Researchers from the “New York State Institute for Basic Research of Developmental Disablities” reported significant improvements when it comes to learning ability, memory, reduced anxiety and motor skills in animals fed with nuts.
In the study mice were fed with the amount of nuts which in human nutrition would be equivalent of 30-50 grams per day.
Scientists explain walnuts’ effect by action of the antioxidants and Omega-3 fatty acids from walnuts.
Many previous studies have shown the positive effect of walnut on heart’s health in people exposed to stress.
Scientists believe that their findings justify the start of the study on the effect of nuts in the prevention of Alzheimer’s disease in humans.
